Bonita Clifton’s first loves were books, one being a dog-eared copy of The Wizard of Oz. Later, she devoured romance novels, starting with Kathleen Winsor’s Forever Amber and all the Kathleen Woodiwiss novels. Jude Deveraux’s time travel, A Knight in Shining Armor, resonated with her creativity. She imagined herself at a Wild West Show in a fun mountain town, a sexy cowboy from another era sauntering into the arena—scanning the audience, his gaze resting upon her with a come-hither burn in his eyes… Oh my, what to do?

Colton Chase was born, along with Bonita’s first time-travel romance, Time of the Rose. Dorchester (Leisure/Timeswept) published the book, and the following year, it became a finalist for the 1995 HOLT Medallion. Today, an updated Time of the Rose is a hit once again in its 2nd Edition, Book 1 of the Twisted Rose Saga time travel romance series.

Bonita is a bestselling and multi-award-winning author, and also dabbles in contemporary, historical, and military romance. She writes under the pen name of Sindee Harlow and SJ Harlow alongside her macho hero, story scholar, and idea man, T.K. Rogers. 

Bonita is “Mom” to four amazing adults and “Grammy B” to a growing family of grandchildren. Her favorite things (besides books) are dogs, horses, and bears, which usually find a way into her stories.

After spending two delightful years touring the United States in an RV, and living in Yellowstone National Park for six months, Bonita and her hero embarked on another adventure: backpacking Europe and Africa while researching and writing. Some might say they’re crazy. Others follow their travels and entertaining stories, living vicariously, and even taking notes for their own future itineraries.
